Bartering goods and services has many inherent advantages according to James Gielarowski, president of the Pittsburgh Trade Alliance. It provides an opportunity to shift inventory and improve cash flow.
Gielarowski said “trade has an inherent discount†when taking into account a product’s actual cost if it were obtained with cash. The company receiving goods or services usually pays the selling party with “trade dollars†instead of paying them directly with product.
